One day later, the official Steam news feed still had a single post: Just Keep Fishing is OUT NOW! by ThomasWStewart. There were no numbered 1.0.x notes in that feed. This wiki will not invent them.

Official Steam news as of 28 August 2026

The only studio news post this wiki will treat as official on that date is Just Keep Fishing is OUT NOW! written by ThomasWStewart. The post is short. The facts we can quote without padding:

• The game is out.
• They asked players to report bugs on Discord.
• Reviews help discovery.
• “This is only the beginning.”

That last line is a promise of more, not a patch number. It is not 1.0.1. It is not a roadmap table. It is not a Trello. When a numbered note actually appears on Steam, this page can grow. Until then, do not copy a version string from a comment and expect it to be real.

The OUT NOW recap of what shipped — more islands, minigames, a deeper tree, 27 achievements — lives on the launch notes. This page does not repeat that list as if it were a hotfix. What “report bugs on Discord” meant in practice

The studio pointed at Discord on day one. Players used it. Barret232hxc hit a Steam Deck glitch, filed it there, and Thomas fixed it in about ten minutes. That is a player-visible follow-up. It is not a Steam news post. It is not a changelog with a build ID this wiki can print. It is also the strongest day-two signal that “report it on Discord” was not flavour text.

A silent art note is not a named patch

Freekill’s Steam review includes the line that they “love the new art style after the recent update.” Treat that as a silent or client-side update a player noticed, not as a named 1.0.x. There is no studio headline that says “Art Pass 1.” There is no patch date beside that sentence in the Steam news feed.

This is how small Steam games often look on day two: the news tab still shows OUT NOW, the client may already have moved, and a review mentions the art. Record the player sentence. Do not promote it into a version. If later news names an art patch, this page will cite that post. It had not, as of 28 August 2026.

Do not merge the art note with the Deck hotfix into one imaginary patch. They are separate player-visible follow-ups. One went through Discord in ten minutes. The other is a review sentence about style. Neither is a numbered Steam news item.

The review already lists the fair complaints: short runtime, a late slog for the price, deliveries getting overpowered, a second playthrough that feels already maxed. None of those complaints become a patch note just because this page exists. Quadriplegic Medic’s delivery complaint is a design note, not evidence of a silent balance hotfix we can print.

The store still showed the introductory 30% off through 10 September 2026. After that date, check Just Keep Fishing on Steam. This wiki will not freeze a discount that has an end date. App 4601160 is the full game. App 4601640 remains the demo.

What “this is only the beginning” does not mean

It does not mean a live-service calendar. It does not mean this wiki should invent weekly drops. It does not mean the 10 June 2026 demo is getting a second act as a paid extra. The demo remains a tasting menu: backpack, rods, logs, a turtle tease, ice penguins, then keep fishing or reset. The full game remains the paid islands.

It does mean the studio is not treating 27 August as a tombstone. Discord is open. Reviews are requested because they help discovery. A Deck fix already landed outside the news feed. An art change was visible to at least one reviewer. That is the post-launch picture: activity without a numbered changelog.

If you are waiting to buy until a 1.0.1 post exists, you are waiting on a document that was not in the Steam news feed on 28 August 2026. Buy or skip on the game that shipped, using the review, not on a patch number this page refuses to mint. The fox, the barrel, and the two-hour ramp are the product.
