Just Keep Fishing Guides
First casts, island routes, money, the turtle, and late-game upgrades in one map.
Just Keep Fishing launched on Steam on 27 August 2026. Set Sail Games (Thomas Stewart) built this short incremental fishing game; Aarimous and Thornity published it. You play a red fox on cute low-poly islands: walk the shore, cast into a dashed circle, wait for a red exclamation on the bobber, click to catch, carry fish to a barrel, press E to sell, then spend coins on a blue skill-tree map. Reviewers describe about twelve islands and about two hours. This hub is the index for every how-to on the wiki.
How to play
New foxes should open Getting Started before buying anything expensive. That page is the first-hour checklist: tutorial prompts, the first casts, the hut and barrel, the backpack jump from two slots to five, when to open the skill tree, and how logs feed the boat to the next island.
Keep Controls nearby until muscle memory lands. WASD moves, the mouse aims and casts, a bite shows as a red ! on the bobber, E sells or interacts, and Space toggles fishing versus the GO FISH! skill tree. Jump exists. This wiki will not invent a gamepad map; leftover binds belong in the in-game prompt.
How to complete islands
The Island Walkthrough is the biome route: tropical pond and hut, ice with penguins, lava fishing, later 2X water, then interstellar stages with gold piles and crystals. Upgrades persist when you sail. Wood and logs feed the boat. Penguin Kicker — a timed penguin-and-chest break — appears between some islands. The 10 June 2026 demo stopped after a few islands; the 27 August 2026 launch is the longer chain.
Between some islands you get a timed penguin-and-chest break. Use Penguin Kicker when a penguin walks off with a diamond. Scattered gems after a sell have a separate loop on gems and loot. Yellow crates are not the same as gems — they live on deliveries. Steam Deck sessions and the launch Discord hotfix sit on Steam Deck.
If you are collecting Steam trophies, use Achievements. The game ships 27. Names we can print without guessing include Hooked, Off the Hook, Sea Legs, Third Time’s the Charm, All Aboard, Four Shores, Just Keep Hopping, High Five, Sixth Sense, Lucky Seven, Full Spectrum, Small Fry, and Pocket Change. Numbered-sounding titles likely track island progress.
How to get money
Coin numbers explode with upgrades, not with a hidden legendary on island one. Early HUDs sit near $7; mid-run dumps land around $248 to $251K; lava water has shown $11.41M; later readouts print $99.24B, $124.13B, and $34.21T. Clownfish were worth more in the demo. Golden fish apply a coin multiplier. Huge late-game gold fish and lava catches sit at the top of that curve.
How to Make Money Fast is the farm order: backpack size so you stop selling every two fish, extra rods and lines, lure range, magnets, extra fishermen, sell value, and fish density. Yellow delivery crates on islands become overpowered quickly, according to reviewers — pick them up, then still buy capacity. Cross-check spend against the upgrades tier list and the upgrade planner. Late screenshots show a max-fish-per-bobber node already at 10, with the next +5 priced at $2.5B; do not dump the first hour into that.
How to find the turtle
A turtle already swims on island 1. You will see it long before you can catch it. Later it is catchable, then it walks the island as a pet. The Finding Nemo joke is the point; the achievement is Just Keep Hopping. A green turtle also shows on ice screenshots. Follow How to Catch the Turtle instead of spending an hour clicking the first-island swimmer.
How to beat the late-game slog
The verbs never change. You put more bobbers in the water — screenshots show four to ten at once — and you grow the backpack from 12/40 toward 0/137, 66/350, and 30/950. Movement speed, extra fishermen, fish types, and sell value keep the loop from stalling. One of the roughly 23 Steam reviews (about 91% positive) called the campaign a slog for the price; most players treat the two-hour length as the design. When the HUD turns into billions, reopen the tree, buy lines and bag size, and just keep fishing. Rank species on the fish tier list so squid, giant squid, golden multipliers, lava catches, and huge gold fish are not a mystery.
Rankings, tools, patches, and links
The Tier List Hub splits fish and upgrades so this page can stay a map. Tools holds planners plus system requirements. Official platforms are Windows 10 or later and macOS Ventura or later. Steam Deck players exist; one Deck bug was patched quickly through Discord. The Updates Hub stores launch notes and the demo recap. Links is the clean list for Steam, Discord, and Set Sail support.
Read the review if you want the honest buy/skip write-up. Just Keep Fishing is a paid Steam title with a 30% introductory offer through 10 September 2026. The client UI supports English, French, Italian, German, Spanish (Spain), Portuguese (Brazil), Portuguese (Portugal), and Spanish (Latin America). There are no redeemable codes and no public Trello.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers on islands, upgrades, the turtle, and launch week.
Where should a new player start?
Read Getting Started for the first hour, then Controls if casts and selling feel clumsy. Move to the Island Walkthrough once you have logs for the boat.
Are there redeemable codes?
No. Just Keep Fishing does not ship promo codes. Spend comes from selling fish, deliveries, and skill-tree upgrades.
How long is the full game?
Reviewers describe a short incremental of about two hours and about twelve islands. The 10 June 2026 demo ended after a few islands; the 27 August 2026 launch is the full chain.
How do I catch the turtle I keep seeing?
Seeing it on island 1 is not the same as catching it. Use How to Catch the Turtle. The pet and the Just Keep Hopping achievement come later.
What should I search for if the late game feels slow?
Open How to Make Money Fast and the upgrades tier list. Backpack size, extra lines, and deliveries usually beat a single expensive node.
Where is Penguin Kicker?
It is a timed minigame between some islands, not the main barrel loop. Start with Penguin Kicker, then gems and loot if valuables keep scattering.
