Full Launch

Just Keep Fishing is OUT NOW. That is the Steam news headline from Thursday 27 Aug 2026. The post is almost as short as the game: after a lot of work and an unreasonable amount of time thinking about fish, Set Sail Games shipped the full incremental, published by Aarimous and Thornity. Steam app 4601160 is the product. This page is what that build adds versus the June demo, how the launch was received, and why “short” is a feature the store still prints on purpose.

If you already own it, you do not need a recap of the itch years. Jump to the walkthrough or the upgrade planner. If you are deciding whether to pay, stay here, then read the review. The demo notes explain the free slice. The Updates Hub is the timeline that puts 10 Jun and 27 Aug on one line.

What launched

The full game is still a top-down, colorful, slightly derpy fishing incremental. You press Space for GO FISH!, bobbers flop into the water, fish ragdoll into the backpack, you walk to the barrel, coins come out, you buy ranks. That loop is the whole pitch. Launch did not turn it into a career sim. Launch gave the loop more islands to eat.

Compared with the Steam demo, the 27 Aug build adds:

  • More islands, including lava, ice, and interstellar water, not just the tropical start and the penguin tease.
  • Minigames layered on the dock-and-cast rhythm so the late islands are not only a bigger shop.
  • A deeper upgrade tree than the demo’s backpack / rods / range slice, with late nodes that climb into billions.
  • 27 Steam achievements, which the demo never owned.
  • The finished route past the demo’s keep-fishing-or-reset fork.

The demo already had the backpack, extra rods, logs and a boat, a turtle you could see, and ice with penguins. Launch is those systems with the rest of the map attached. If you bounced off the demo’s commute, launch will not delete the commute. If you wanted to know what sat behind the lava tease, launch is the answer.

Steam reception and the intro sale

Steam opened the full game in Positive. That is a small, early sample, not a five-year score. The demo had already sat at 96% of 29 reviews, so the paid build was not a cold start. Features on the store: single-player, Steam Achievements, Family Sharing. Tags players actually use: Casual, Incremental, Indie, Fishing, Idler, Relaxing, Cute, Top-Down, Economy.

The launch-week store offer is 30% off through 10 Sep 2026. Buy through Just Keep Fishing on Steam. Bundles exist (publisher stacks with other Aarimous/Thornity-adjacent games); they are optional. This wiki will not tell you a bundle is required to see lava.

Languages on the interface: English, French, Italian, German, Spanish (Spain), Portuguese (Brazil), Portuguese (Portugal), Spanish (Latin America). Audio is not a fully voiced drama. You are here for bobbers, not a radio play.

Honest length

The Steam blurb is “a short incremental game about catching a lot of fish.” The OUT NOW post does not pretend otherwise. That is the most important launch fact after the date. You can finish a meaningful arc in a sitting. You can also sit on a $2.5B fish-per-bobber rank with $124B in the wallet if you like watching numbers. Both are allowed. Neither is a hundred-hour live-service.

If “short” sounds like a warning, it is. If “short” sounds like a relief, it is also that. The review argues the value in plain language. This page only records that the 27 Aug product is complete as a short game, not a demo wearing a price tag.

What to do on launch day (and after)

  1. Install app 4601160, or keep the demo if you still want a free taste.
  2. Confirm the machine on system requirements if you are on a laptop, a Mac, or a Deck.
  3. Follow getting started through the first backpack ranks.
  4. Spend with the upgrade planner instead of dumping first coins into vanity.
  5. Use the walkthrough when lava, ice, or interstellar water shows up and the dock no longer explains itself.
  6. Chase the turtle with how to catch the turtle once the engine exists.
  7. Clear the 27 unlocks with the achievements guide if that is your completion brain.
  8. Bug reports and hotfixes: Discord and the Steam community hub. One Deck launch bug was already patched that way.

What launch did not add

Launch did not add redeemable gift codes. Launch did not add a Trello public roadmap this wiki can point at. Launch did not add a second Steam app you have to buy to see ice. The demo app remains a demo. The full app is the full game. If a later patch retunes a node or an island, it will be logged on the Updates Hub, not silently stuffed into this OUT NOW recap.

Dev context if you want the “why it feels like this” version: Thomas Stewart’s I’m Making a Fishing Game That’s Actually Fun is the named devlog, not an in-page embed. Studio site: Set Sail Games. Official store remains Steam.

Buy it if a short, silly fish loop sounds like tonight’s plan. Skip it if you wanted a hundred-hour sim. Either way, the 27 Aug 2026 build is the full game, not a teaser wearing a price tag.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers on islands, upgrades, the turtle, and launch week.

What was the Steam launch headline?

Just Keep Fishing is OUT NOW, posted Thursday 27 Aug 2026 after a lot of work and an unreasonable amount of time thinking about fish.

What does the full game add versus the demo?

More islands, including lava, ice, and interstellar; minigames; a deeper upgrade tree; 27 achievements; and the route past the demo's keep-fishing-or-reset fork.

Is the full game still short?

Yes. Steam still sells it as a short incremental. That is honest, not a joke buried in the blurb. Read the review if length is your buy question.

How long is the 30% introductory offer?

Through 10 Sep 2026. After that, check the live Steam price. This page will not freeze a discount that has an end date.

Where should I go after installing the launch build?

Getting started if you are new, the walkthrough if you already know the barrel, and the upgrade planner before the first expensive rank.

Did launch add a public Trello or extra apps?

No. There is no Trello this wiki will claim. App 4601160 is the full game. App 4601640 remains the demo.
