Just Keep Fishing Achievements
27 Steam unlocks. Thirteen confirmed names, island-count clues, and the turtle hop.
Just Keep Fishing ships with 27 Steam achievements. That number is official. The full schema is still cycling on the store highlight strip, so this page lists the 13 names we can confirm in public, explains the likely meaning of each, and refuses to invent the other 14. When Steam’s complete list is stable, the table will grow. Until then, play the game, watch the popups, and treat this as a named subset rather than a 100% spoiler sheet.
You play as a fox angler. Fish go in the backpack, the barrel sells with E, and the skill tree opens with Space or GO FISH!. Most unlocks will fall out of that loop if you keep moving between islands. A few, like Just Keep Hopping, are tied to a specific mascot. Pair this page with the walkthrough for island order and with how to catch the turtle for the pet.
How to read this list
Steam achievements in a short incremental are usually breadcrumbs: first catch, first cash, first boat, then a count of shores. Just Keep Fishing’s confirmed names fit that pattern unusually well. Third Time’s the Charm, Four Shores, High Five, Sixth Sense, and Lucky Seven look like an island-count series. That reading is an inference from the names, not a datamined requirement. Small Fry and Pocket Change look like early catch and early cash. Full Spectrum may mean all biomes or all fish colors. We mark those guesses in the table so they do not get copied as facts.
Do not invent extra titles. If a video overlay or a store thumbnail shows a name that is not in this table, it may still be one of the unpublished 14. We will add it when it is clearly official and repeatable. The store highlight strip already rotates a few of the 13 below, which is how several of these titles became public in the first place.
Confirmed names
| Achievement | What it likely means | Confidence |
|---|---|---|
| Hooked | First successful catch, or the moment the fox is actually fishing | Name inference |
| Off the Hook | A fishing pun; could be a miss, a release, or a later hook milestone | Name inference |
| Sea Legs | Getting comfortable on the water, likely after leaving the first dock | Name inference |
| Third Time’s the Charm | Likely the third island or third shore | Island-count inference |
| All Aboard | Boat progress, boarding, or leaving with the next craft | Name inference |
| Four Shores | Likely the fourth island or fourth shore | Island-count inference |
| Just Keep Hopping | Turtle pet after it pops off the rod and walks the island | Strong: pet + Nemo joke |
| High Five | Likely the fifth island or fifth shore | Island-count inference |
| Sixth Sense | Likely the sixth island or sixth shore | Island-count inference |
| Lucky Seven | Likely the seventh island or seventh shore | Island-count inference |
| Full Spectrum | Maybe every biome, or every fish color | Name inference |
| Small Fry | Likely an early catch milestone | Name inference |
| Pocket Change | Likely an early cash milestone | Name inference |
That is 13 of 27. The remaining 14 names are real Steam achievements, but this wiki will not guess their titles. Play, unlock, and check back.
The island-count cluster
If the inference holds, Third Time’s the Charm through Lucky Seven are a trail of shores rather than hidden minigames. Play the walkthrough in order, dump the barrel on each new dock, and let the popups happen. Do not restart islands to farm a number we have not confirmed. If a later patch changes island count, the joke names may not map one-to-one anymore; we will update the table instead of pretending the mapping is a datamine.
All Aboard sits next to that cluster and is probably the boat beat rather than a shore count. Sea Legs is the comfort joke. Together they read as a travel set: learn to fish, get your legs, board, then count shores.
Just Keep Hopping
This is the one name we can attach to a real object. On island one the turtle swims and will not stay on the hook. On a later island you can hook it; it pops off the rod and walks as a pet. The achievement title is a Finding Nemo wink, same as the game’s title. Developers talked about that joke before launch. Steam art also shows a green turtle on ice, which is a later-biome look, not a second pet you have to catalog.
Extra turtle jobs (picking up coins, interacting with skill-tree nodes) were discussed and should be treated as speculative. You do not need those jobs for the achievement name to make sense. Hop is the verb. See how to catch the turtle for the catch itself.
Small Fry, Pocket Change, Full Spectrum
Small Fry is almost certainly not a rare boss. The phrase means a small fish and fits a first-catch or early-count unlock. Pocket Change fits the first barrel dumps, before the HUD is talking in millions. Neither one requires a special lure we can document.
Full Spectrum is the odd one. It might mean visiting every biome (starter water, ice, lava, and whatever else the walkthrough opens). It might mean catching every color of fish. It might mean both. Until Steam publishes the description, chase variety: new water, new colors, new dumps. The fish tier list helps you notice species, but it is not an achievement checklist.
How to 27 without a full schema
Play the game once for fun. The review is clear that a run is short, about two hours for many people. That first run will unlock a large chunk of the 27 if you keep moving. Then:
- Confirm Just Keep Hopping via the later-island turtle hook.
- Visit every shore the walkthrough lists so the number-named titles can fire if the inference is right.
- Sell often enough that Pocket Change cannot hide behind a full backpack.
- Fish new biomes and colors for Full Spectrum rather than repeating one cove.
- Screenshot any popup whose name is not in the table and treat it as one of the unpublished 14.
Do not stall on magnets, 2X water, or yellow deliveries just for achievements. Those systems belong to how to make money fast. Money and unlocks overlap because the game is short, but the spend order still matters if you want the late HUD.
Penguins and Penguin Kicker are ice content with a chest and coins. They may or may not be one of the unnamed 14. We will not mint a fake penguin achievement to fill the gap. Throw penguins if the biome lets you, play the kicker if it appears, and keep fishing.
When Steam’s schema is fully public, this page will add the missing titles and rewrite the inference column into requirements. Until then, the honest completion route is the same as the honest money route: catch, bag, barrel, travel, hop with the turtle, and do not invent extra chores.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers on islands, upgrades, the turtle, and launch week.
How many achievements does Just Keep Fishing have?
27 on Steam. This page names 13 that are publicly confirmed. The other 14 exist, but we will not invent their titles until the official schema is fully public.
What is Just Keep Hopping?
The turtle pet achievement. Hook the turtle on a later island (not the first-island swim-by). It pops off the rod and walks the island. Details are on how to catch the turtle.
Do Third Time's the Charm through Lucky Seven mean islands?
That is the best reading of the names, not a confirmed requirement. Play the walkthrough in order and let the popups happen. We will mark it as fact only if Steam's descriptions say so.
Is Full Spectrum every fish?
Unknown. It may mean all biomes, all fish colors, or both. Fish new water and new colors rather than grinding one pool. The fish tier list is for value, not a completion checklist.
Are there missable achievements?
Nothing in the confirmed 13 looks like a one-chance event. The game is a short incremental. If a later official description is missable, we will flag it. For now, finish the shores, catch the turtle, and sell often.
